Eagle feathers are a special gift. This entire bustle as it’s called was made with tail feathers. This man did a warrior’s dance. Facebook Twitter Pintrest 15 notes

Last photo for the night (class tomorrow) This is Sagatay, who danced beautifully during the youth dance and the “jingle dress dance.” You can find some information on it here. I can not get over the incredible beading or the passion and skill involved in these dances. Facebook Twitter Pintrest 9 notes
Baby Shane doing the Prairie Chicken dance, if I recall correctly. Yesterday there was a festival celebrating First Nations culture at Yonge and Dundas Square. Luckily there was such beautiful weather yesterday, as today is rather grey. Facebook Twitter Pintrest 4 notes
This is a young boy named Baby Shane introducing himself to the MC before his performance. He performed the Prairie Chicken Dance, solo. I loved how intense he was at such a young age and that he’s able to carry on a very important tradition. Tomorrow, I will post a photo of him dancing, and some others. This month is Aboriginal History Month, and today there was a festival downtown celebrating the variety of cultures within the First Nations of Canada. These are moccasins worn by a very impressive dancer. Facebook Twitter Pintrest
