Composition is not quite on, a bit too closely cropped (thank you 50 mm lens on a dx camera) but I still really like this.

Birthday card from my aunt and uncle to my brother on his 16th.  We have a cat, but at heart, my family loves dogs.

Ever since my aunt bought a red velvet cake for my grandmother’s birthday in November, it has been my family’s go-to birthday cake.  Bought from a small grocer, it is so damn moist and perfect.  I aspire to bake a *good* red velvet cake by the end of the summer (that’s a tall order… not an easy cake to make)

One last photo before I head to bed…  Mum wanted red velvet cake for her birthday, and red velvet cake she got.  I took this Saturday.
